This Valentine’s Day, we are grateful for you. Thank you for sending love to women around the world who are lifting themselves out of poverty. Your compassion and generosity makes so much possible.

Because of you, women like Liliane, Ngabire, and Nadine in Rwanda—the geographical “heart of Africa”—are rewriting their futures with confidence, strength, and love. Their stories aren’t your typical love stories—but what greater act of love is there than uplifting yourself, your family, and your community? You can read their stories on our blog.

To show our appreciation, we have something sweet to share with you: a recipe for mandazi, fried pastries that are sometimes referred to as “African donuts.” Try them plain, or dress them up with cinnamon, honey, jelly, or powdered sugar. If you make this recipe, take a photo and send it to us (or tag us on social media). We’d love to see how your mandazi turn out!

Have a Valentine’s Day filled with love… and the joy of knowing you’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and families across the globe.
