Our approach
We prioritize joyful learning, and engage participatory approaches for social and emotional learning, play and character development. Our community-driven network of programs includes accelerated learning opportunities through second chance learning centers. Our activity-based teaching methods ensure children develop a positive experience towards learning. We also support the government and stakeholders with teacher training, mentoring and curriculum development.
Education

We complement government efforts to deliver essential services through our network of community health promoters. We focus on reproductive and child healthcare, malaria and tuberculosis control, family planning, basic curative services, and emergency response during crises such as the outbreaks Ebola and COVID-19.
Health

The Mastercard Foundation Accelerating Impact for Young Women in Partnership with BRAC (AIM) program in Liberia is equipping 161,500 adolescent girls and young women with age-appropriate entrepreneurship, employability, and life-skills training, as well as the tools to start and scale their own businesses.
Accelerating Impact for Young Women (AIM)

BRAC Liberia Microfinance Company Limited is the largest microfinance provider in Liberia. Our range of services puts a strong focus on women, especially those living in rural and hard-to-reach areas. Our customized loans, including those in agro-finance and enterprise, are designed to increase the financial resilience of local entrepreneurs.
Microfinance

Our flagship Ultra-Poor Graduation approach is a globally recognized solution that offers holistic support to help people find a pathway out of extreme poverty. We combine a proven set of interventions combining income generation, access to existing social protection services, financial support, and social empowerment. The program combines income generation, access to social protection services, financial support, and social empowerment.
Ultra-Poor Graduation

We train farmers on climate-smart agriculture, improve livestock management practices, agricultural extension, post-harvest management, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy and equip them with the right tools (ie, start-up inputs, seeds, tools, poultry, livestock, feed, etc) to jump start their businesses. We create employment opportunities through strengthening local value chains, particularly for women and young people.
Agriculture, Food Security and Livelihood

We combine social empowerment, education and economic empowerment to enable young people to reach their full potential. Our adolescent club is part of a mentor-led, community-supported program that provides safe spaces for young people, especially girls, to access livelihood and vocational training, and startup kits to start small businesses. We aspire to help them develop self-confidence, critical thinking, leadership, and social skills, to navigate issues that affect their futures.
Youth Empowerment

Connecting people with local, sustainable markets, BRAC’s social enterprises seek to unlock the potential that market-led solutions can have in addressing development challenges and supporting greater scale and impact. BRAC poultry enterprise established its poultry, hatchery and feed mill in 2013, as Liberia’s first and only commercial producer of high quality day-old chicks and feed.
