BRAC develops and scales innovative solutions to the world's biggest social problems.
Nearly 700 million people live in extreme poverty. We know that poverty and inequality are human-made, so they can be unmade by people themselves when they have opportunities and support to unlock their potential. At BRAC, we provide hardworking people living in poverty with the proven tools and support they need to create the best lives for themselves. We serve 100 million people in more than 16 countries in Asia and Africa, with a particular focus on women and girls. We disburse microloans to over 7 million people. We upskill youth, provide health care, educate children, and train farmers. We have helped over two million families lift themselves out of ultra-poverty. Our work moves the needle because it is effective, becomes self-sustaining, and builds opportunities that last.
